A solution-based National Aviral Nirmal Ganga Conference was held at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, organized by Ganga Action in cooperation with numerous organizations including Parmarth Niketan Ashram, India Heritage Research Foundation, Save Ganga Movement and Sarva Dharma Sansad. Prominent experts and professionals gathered together to form a comprehensive action plan (one that is technically, logistically, financially and scientifically sound) along with alternative models for making Mother Ganga and her tributaries free-flowing, clean and natural. Participants in the conference also shared reflections and experiences concerning two major tributaries of Ganga – Yamuna and Gomati – based upon feedback from the “River Yatra,” a journey organized by thousands of people in the different states along these rivers.
