BHEL, FICCI, Ganga Action Parivar & GIWA meet at Parmarth Niketan to discuss a Clean Ganga Ahead of the Kumbh 2021
4 NOVEMBER 2019, RISHIKESH: On the 7th anniversary of Mother Ganga being declared the National River of India, and after the beautiful inauguration ceremony of 2 new clusters of a Bio-Toilet Complex at Pantdeep Parking in Haridwar, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited of Haridwar, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Ganga Action Parivar and the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) met at Parmarth Niketan under the chairmanship of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji to discuss how the remaining clusters could be completed in an efficient and effective manner.
Already-developed and -introduced technologies by GAP and Global Interfaith WASH Alliance – such as the Sewage to Selfie points, decentralised wastewater treatment and other green innovations – were shared with BHEL and FICCI, but the main focus of the discussions was how working together these organisations could inspire others to join on board and make a clean, green and serene Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021.
Joining the important discussions were Shri Anil Kapoor, Director (HR), BHEL Mr. Sanjay Gulati, GM (I), BHEL HEEP, Shri Sanjay Sinha, Shri PK Gupta and others of BHEL as well as the Deputy Secretary General, FICCI, Shri Nirankar Saxena.
