VARANASI: In support of the indefinite fast of Nagnath Baba, who has been on hunger strike for last 206 days for undisrupted flow of the Ganga, the Dom community stopped cremation for two hours at Manikarnika Ghat on Wednesday.
Besides, under the auspices of Maan Ganga Nishad Raj Seva Samiti local boatmen also staged dharna at Rajendra Prasad Ghat in his support. They warned that they would take to streets if the Ganga water tapped in Tehri dam was not released to maintain proper flow of the river.
In view of deteriorating health condition of Nagnath, he was admitted to the district hospital.
