A special program on “Sangam se Sansad ko Sandesh” was organized by Sadhana Channel and the Prabhatam group in which Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, founder of Ganga Action Parivar and President of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, Pujya Swami Kailashanandji, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, B.A. Swami Paramadvaitiji, Prem Babaji, Dr. Sergio the consul general to Argentina and others took part and gave their messages.
As Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji said: “It is crucial for the Parliament to have strict rules with strict penalty for those who pollute Mother Ganga. Ganga has been declared our national river. She is also our national heritage. Those who pollute Her waters or who allow Her waters to be polluted should be strictly penalized. Ganga is the past, present and future of India. If Ganga thrives, India will thrive.”
Pujya Swami Kailashanandji said: “Ganga’s pain is everyone’s pain. If we neglect Ganga, it means neglecting our country and our culture. It is now the crucial time to take up the task of protecting and preserving Her.”
Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji said, “Ganga is a 2500 km, flowing temple. Where the Goddess lives, that is a temple. Each evening along Her banks people gather together to perform Her aarti. Can anyone imagine dumping their household waste in a Temple, Mosque, Gurudwara or Church? Can anyone imagine going to the toilet on the floor of our places of worship? We need to realize that Ganga is also a Temple. The same attention, love and reverence we give our temples we must give to Ganga.”
Dr. Sergio, the consul general of Argentina said, “In Argentina we are mostly Catholics and I can tell you that if Jesus Christ lived today He would say ‘Love Ganga as you love yourself.'”
