Over 150 students from local schools in Allahabad Ganga Gurukulum and Maharishi Pantanjali Vidya Mandir, along with their teachers and principals, came to the Ganga Action Parivar camp to perform beautiful, creative and inspirational cultural program involving dance, theatre and music based on Mother Ganga and Her protection.

In their performance pieces, the students shed light on the issues and challenges that face Mother Ganga. They portrayed the role and responsibilities of the many stakeholders and people that depend on Mother Ganga as their very lifeline. Together they chanted slogans like “Wake up Nation, Wake Up!”, “Act Now Before its Too Late”, and “Ganga is not for particular countries or groups, She is for all!” By the medium of street play they effectively touched everyone’s hearts and raised the unanswered questions and challenges facing our nation.

The performances were followed by a question and answer session with Pujya Swamiji in which He explained that the time had come to exercise not only the power of vote but also veto, and that the time to stay quiet about Ganga’s pollution is over – the time to act has come. Pujya Swamiji told the students that this Kumbha Mela is the golden opportunity to spread the message of preserving Mother Ganga and the Himalayas, and that the youth must set the way of how to protect and respect our rivers and women, as these are keys to preserving our nation. He urged each student to become an agent of change in their respective community, transforming their streets, their communities and their local water bodies.

Pujya Swami Paramadvaitiji also spoke to the kids emphasizing that the change is really in the hand of the community, not only with the policy makers and big personalities. Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawatiji mentioned to the kids that they must work and bring together all for this vital cause. Pujya Prem Babaji also expressed his admiration and appreciation of the youngsters concern for saving their environment and natural heritage.
