Ganga River Clean-up Brings Together East and West
Allahabad- American Students of Harvard University Professor Dianne Eck will attend the Maha Kumbh today in order to help clean the Ganga River. The cleanup is a special effort of Ganga Action Parivar and its founder, HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati,to bring together East and West to promote environmental preservation for world peace.
Said Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati, “The Harvard University students have come all this way to perform what I call heart work for Mother Ganga. Their passion for change transcends national boundaries. Truly, Harvard is part of a heart-world of people coming together from across the globe on behalfofour National River.”
At the completion of the cleanup, the Harvard students will take a traditional snan, or holy bath, at the confluence of the Yamuna, Ganga, and mystical Saraswati Rivers.
Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati stated, “One day, people will come to know that rivers don’t belong to one, but belong to all. Ultimately, all rivers flow to the ocean, and the oceans are connected, so we are not working only for India or one city, we are working for all. In that all, there are no walls of religions, politics, caste or country. Let us work together.”
