During the two-day event “Environmental Protection for World Peace”, held in celebration of Pujya Swamiji’s 60th Jayanti which brought together great saints from various faiths, governmental leaders, industrialists, Bollywood celebrities and more in a great awareness-raising event for the plight of our Ganga and the environment, and how it relates to peace, an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between Ganga Action Parivar, DRDO and FICCI to build eco-friendly bio-digester toilets throughout the Ganga basin.
Before all the saints and distinguished guests left on the morning of the 4th, all gathered to inaugurate the first mobile bio-toilets. These toilets, which use the same technology as the permanent bio-digester toilet blocks (as built and inaugurated at Parmarth on the 15th October), are specifically designed in vehicles to be able to bring proper sanitation to festivals, melas and other events.
The saints also viewed the installation of a new water filtration system created by Waterlife. These filtration systems, which will be installed throughout the Ganga basin, provide clean, fresh drinking water at minimal costs.
