Pujya Swamiji and Head of All India Imams, Respected Imam Umer Iliasiji, graced a peace gathering at Gandhi Rajghat to support a call from the interfaith community for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Muzzafarnagar.

They later arrived together for a closed door meeting with key Muslim leaders and various revered leaders of the world’s religions such as Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim. The topic of discussion was how they could collectively douse the flames of chaos in the nation, whether it be blasts in Bodh Gaya or communal riots in Muzzafarnagar. All the venerated leaders agreed to that any such act of violence against any community or faith was against each of their faiths and the essence of all faiths is to serve the creation, humanity, as well as the creator.

Thereafter they joined for a special seminar with thousands of Buddhist monks and members of various religions entitled ‘Meeting of the Hearts and Minds.’ The gathering brought together key spiritual and religious leaders. They agreed that these acts were direct insults to humanity and such actions are not in any way supported by any faith. They agreed that they would continue to work together as one family to bring people together, connecting the nation and world in peace and harmony.
