Pujya Swamiji shares that the height of the River Ganga in Rishikesh has broken a hundred year record with the monsoons coming much earlier this year in June. Last year in September, she rose to almost completely cover the divine and iconic idol of Lord Shivaji on the banks of Parmarth Niketan Ghat (Rishikesh).
Pujya Swamiji warns that this is an indication that on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra (the auspicious occasion of Gangaji’s Birthday), Gangaji is directing us to question our means and methods of development so that it remains in harmony with Mother Nature. He offers his deep condolences to the families of the people who have been swept away, disappeared or stranded in the flood.
He extends the ashram’s premises, including food and shelter, to all pilgrims and visitors who are stuck in the area or need a place to halt until the weather improves. He led a Special Ganga Aarti and Prayer for the well-being of the thousands stranded in the Char Dhams.
