Pujya Swamiji Lauded for Providing Relief and Green Rehabilitation

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Vijay Bahugunaji and Hon’ble Chairman of Revenue Control Board, Shri SK Muttooji called together a special meeting to honour the over 150 NGOs and institutions that have served during the wake of the Uttarakhand disaster to provide immediate and long term relief. The also gave a vote of thanks for the dedication and the services that these members of the civil society were providing to rehabilitate and restore the affected villages and schools in the third phase of the relief activities.

H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President of Parmarth Niketan and Founder of Ganga Action Parivar was especially deeply appreciated and honoured for His vision and leadership to bring together members of the civil society, administration and volunteers to serve as one team with one theme, aiding the disaster stricken areas. Also present at this special event were Hon’ble Minister of Disaster Management, Shri Yashpal Arya, Hon’ble Minister Industries and Labour, Shri Harish Chandra Durgapal, Hon’ble High Commissioner of the British High Commission, Chandigarh, Mr. David Lelliot and his wife, Hirako as well as Respected Smt Sudha Bahuguna, wife of Hon’ble CM.

Pujya Swamiji’s invited all dignitaries and representative of the NGOs to the upcoming International Green Vision Conference on the 24th Dec, discussing a way forward for Uttarakhand and a plan for sustainable rehabilitation. Pujya Swamiji also shared the various programmes and projects that Project Hope will be undertaking in affected schools including installation of bio-toilets, water filters and solar panels as well as Mid Day fruit programme and a My Tree Programme in which kids not only connect with nature, protect their environment but live healthier and happier lives by being nourished by the delicious fruits that the trees will provide.
