A Green Vision for Uttarakhand: A Workshop for the Rehabilitation, Rejuvenation & Resilience of the Himalayas

Organized by Project Hope in joint collaboration with Ganga Action Parivar and Navdanya
The event will bring together spiritual leaders, key members of administration, eminent environmentalists, scientists, NGOs, institutions and volunteers as one collective team to reflect on the way forward in the wake of the recent tragedy and flash floods. The focus of the workshop will be to plan for the green rehabilitation and sustainable restoration of this sacred land and to rekindle the light of hope in the hearts and minds of the Himalayan people.
The workshop will invite suggestions from all relevant stakeholder and participants on how we can proceed to sustainably revive the state. The workshop will be divided into the sessions with specific focus on solutions to the most pressing challenges that Uttarakhand faces. Some of the sessions will include preparation of an eco-village model, effective disaster management, green pilgrimage and tourism, protecting forest and biodiversity, hydropower projects and renewable energy alternatives, protecting and preserving seed biodiversity, organic farming and so much more.
The event will be hosted at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh), where room and board will be provided for participants of the two-day workshop.
