Save Ganga Conference : Dignitaries and Faith Leaders Meet to Join Forces

In honour of the 84th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji’s Dandi March, a meaningful Save Ganga & Save Himalayas Meeting took place in Gandhi Darsan, New Delhi this March. This auspicious event is held every year, thanks to the gracious and dedicated efforts of dignitaries including Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, Chairperson of the Save Ganga Movement, Smt Rama Rauta, Convener of the Save Ganga Movement and other caring people.

The meeting brought together revered religious leaders, dedicated experts and volunteers to reflect on the issues that are threatening Mother Ganga, the lifeline for some 500 million people. Also discussed were courses of actions that should be taken to save Mother Ganga’s beautiful waters and banks for this and future generations.

The intellectual caliber and depth of opinions in the room made the discussions riveting and memorable. Afterwards, a special ceremony was held, in which Mother Ganga’s waters were poured over a globe, with prayers for a healthy Ganga and clean and plentiful water everywhere.
