Swami Chidanand proposes solar energy option

In the past week, India’s states were hit by a major power cut. Head of Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, presently on a US tour, received the news of recent blackouts there and held detailed discussions with American experts, Environmental Engineers and Scientists regarding the same.

Clean Energy experts said India had infinite solar power resources and explained to him about alternative power resources. They have promised to provide full support to India in the field of solar energy.

Experts told him that America and China were two big nations who had utilised solar energy to the maximum. Development of renewable energy sources had solved problems of power crisis in the nation and its people. In America, scientists had done intense reserach on renewable energy sources, so that a big part of their electricity came from solar energy.

American experts, environmental engineers and scientists have promised Swami Chidanand they would fully cooperate with India on research and development on alternative sources of energy. They said, “India has the infinite source of solar energy, as the Sun shines brightly for almost nine to ten months. It is a special gift from nature and God to India.”

On his return, the Swami will also speak to the Uttarakhand Government so that Solar Energy could be fully utilised. He believes that maximum utilisation of solar energy will discourage electric power projets on “Mother Ganga” so that she could flow freely in her natural and pristine state.
