In Honour of the Disaster, GAP Plants Trees of Remembrance

Tragically, thousands of people lost their lives as a result of the 2013 flood disaster in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand.

Now, Ganga Action Parivar is working towards forever memorialising all victims through our Smriti Van Program,  which will include the mass plantation of trees to stabilize soil, and provide local populations with shade and fruit.

The tree groves will be planted in Kedar Valley to Rishishikesh and Uttarakashi to Haridwar, and will be open to all visitors as places of remembrance and reflection.
